350 Year Old Home Warmed Up
Class Energy were called in recently to a 350 year old home where an old oil boiler was struggling to heat all the rooms.
Ken & Anny Bibby said they heated their home, The Old Post Office in Wold Newton, by closing the doors of all other rooms they weren’t in and using a wood burner as extra heat to get comfortable.
After a full assessment of the fabric of the building and the way they use their home, Class Energy carried out accurate heat loss calculations despite curved walls and unusual floor levels and created a system design requiring an 18kW biomass boiler.
There are many manufacturers of biomass boilers from all over the world. Class Energy have done all the investigative works from a longevity, intelligence, controllability and capability point of view and last year arrived at the decision to only install ÖkoFEN boilers from Austria.

Chris, I can’t believe how lovely and warm the house is, we keep saying to each other it’s never been warm like this before. We could maybe get one room warm with a fire on and the doors closed but now we can go from room to room, no worries!
